Arthur Herbert Procter V.C. 1890-1973
Born in Bootle. Awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery in the first World War. Later ordained priest and was vicar of St. Stephen's Church, Flowery Field from 1933-1944. and rector of St. Mary's Church, Droylsden from 1946-1951.
Arthur Herbert Procter VC (11 August 1890 – 27 January 1973) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
