Inspired to compose the famous marching song "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" He was the first to sing it publicly in 1912 at the Grand Theatre in Stalybridge, the town of its conception. Unveiled 16th December 2005 by Councillor Frank Robinson

John "Jack" Judge (3 December 1872 - 25 July 1938) was a British song-writer and music-hall entertainer best remembered for writing the song It's a Long Way to Tipperary, although Judge wrote and sung the song in 1912, John McCormack made the song famous rather than Judge.
